After going top for the first time last weekend Juventus will be looking to stay there but must negotiate a tricky trip to an inform Bologna on Friday night. Last year's champions and Champions League runners up Juventus are back in pole position but with a huge champions League game against Bayern Munich next Tuesday the question will be can Juve keep their concentration on the league game Friday night. Coach Allegri's main job will be to keep his team focused on the job at hand, with fifteen league wins in a row there is bound to be some complacency sneaking in but they dont have the gap to allow that to happen. Juve will be looking to Dybala, Pogba, and Morata to lead the way. Juventus are struggling with injuries to key players Mandzukic, Cheillini and Caceres so resting players for the up coming game against Bayern Munich is unlikely with the Serie A title race so tight. Zaza proved to be the match winner against Napoli with a deflected goal in the 88th minute, Zaza has lots of potential but Allegri is yet to really trust him with a starting role and I think he is likely to stay on the bench here although it depends on if Morata is fit after injuring himself against Napoli.
Bologna is a tough place to go and try to get a result and Roma, Fiorentina, Napoli have all failed to win at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara , this is a tough team and they are bang in form with three wins in their last five games and they will also have no fear playing against Juventus. Bologna have lost their last five to Juventus head to head but prior to that Bologna had five draws in seven games against a Juve team who were winning Scudetto after Scudetto. This is a team that will fight hard and work hard. Mattia Destro is a frustrating player but he has eight goals this season and does pop up in the big games, he misses as many as he scores though and that is often the problem with Destro and perhaps why he is not at a "bigger"club. With that said Destro will be a handful for a Juve side missing Chellini and with Giaccherini, Mounier also goal poachers there would be little surprise here for me if Bologna took a lead on the counter attack.
With fifteen wins in a row Juventus are two games shy of Inter Milans record of seventeen wins in a row, I dont think Juve are going to get to seventeen. In fact I think Bologna end the run tonight probably with a draw but I am going to take Bologna +1.5 on the Asian Handicap. I see this game as a war of attrition and if Juventus get distracted by next weeks Champions League game they could well leave Bologna with nothing.
