A cracking south coast derby in store for us on tuesday night as Bournmouth play host to an inform southampton. Ronald Koeman's side were unlucky to lose to Chelsea at the weekend, taking the lead through Shane Long only to lose out to two second hal goals. Long was in fine form but picked up a knock at the weekend and is likely to miss this game on Tuesday as it will probably come too early for him. Mane. Pelle and Tadic will provide the attacking threat for a Saints team that have won five of their last seven and until the weekend loss were the form team in the Premier League. The Saints have climbed up to seventh in the table and are only four points from fifth placed Manchester United.
Bouremouth are in a scrap to survive, the team has now lost three of their last four home games and two fo their last three overall. Eddie Howe will know the importance of the games in March, Bournemouth simply must pick up some points if they are to avoid a real relegation dog fight. Goals have been a problem for the side Ben Afobe has provided an outlet and former Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray will also provide some hard graft for the side . Harry Arter and Matt Ritchie will be key figures in the midfield and will probably need to chip in with more goals. Bournemouth are in real danger of slipping into the relegation battle with just five points seperating them from eighteenth the club and fans will be desperate for a win here.
Really tough game to handicap here,I do think the injury to Shane Long will have a negative effect on Southampton and Bournemouth are desperate for points. I do think though that Bournemouth are going to struggle to break down this Southampton defence, I am taking the unders here. Southampton's defence and goalkeeper have been immense this season especially lately while their attack has been proficient if not very exciting. Likewise Bournemouth have not conceded much at home but their struggles are definitely up front.
