TV: Bein Sports;
Sunderland will host Crystal Palace on Tuesday night with both teams desperate for a win, a win for Crystal Palace could see them leap out of the relegation zone and would be a massive boost in the Black Cats bid for survival. Sam Allardyce is a good manager to have when facing a relegation battle he has been here many times before and knows how to navigate the congested fixtures. Sunderland will need star man Jermain Defoe on form as they look to provide a miracle escape. Defoe was off form against West Ham at the weekend and missed several opportunities that could at least have gotten a point for Sunderland. Sunderland have closed the gap on the teams above them and now sit just a couple of points away from the safety zone. This a remarkable achievement and one that should be credited to both the players and the manager.
Crystal Palace have not won a Premier League game since December incredibly Alan Pardew and his team have actually not been playing terribly but have been just unable to get wins under their belt. The addition of Emmanuel Adebayor in the January tranfer window seems to have sparked some life in the Palace forward line though and Conor Wickham scored his first and second goals from open play in the league last weekend. Crystal Palace should welcome back the brilliant yanick Bolasie who came on as a half time substitue at the weekend and with Palace 3-0 down they rallied to 3-2. Bolasie is a force of nature on the field and he completely tranforms how good Crystal Palace are, I think that his return could spell trouble for Sunderland.
I am going to go against the grain here and take Crystal Palace to get a win in this one. It will be a tight game for definite but I like how Palace played in the second half last weekend and with Bolasie, Wickham, Adebayor, Cabaye and Zaha along with Puncheon and Gayle there is enough talent here going forward to rock the worst defence in the league. Take Palace to get a win which should see them move up closer to safety.
