The second leg of the Champions League round of 16 is upon us and for some teams it is a chance for them to recover from disappointing previous results. The first day of matches will see Real Madrid play Roma in a game which most pundits believe to be a dead rubber since the Ronaldo and his teammates already won on the road. Although there is a lot of fact in that analysis, things might not be over yet since Roma are back in form and will look the silent a lot of their critics.
Roma are coming of a big win in Serie A on the weekend and that will give the Italian side a lot of confidence as they head into this match. After a slow run in around Christmas, this team is back and they are playing some really good football. That beings said, they are down by 2 goals and will be away from home so things will be tough for them. It is understandable if they don’t make it but I think they will try and I expect some open, free flowing football from the Italians here.
Real Madrid on the other hand will know that the tie is theirs to lose and in front of their home crowd, I don’t think they will do this. This is another opportunity of Real Madrid to show their dominance and I will be disappointed if the likes of Ronaldo and Bale don’t play well against a good team.
Overall I think that Roma will play well but they will still lose. This game should expect goals since Roma will play an open style of football and that will give both teams a lot of scoring opportunities. I think we can see a score line like 3-2 or 2-2 quite easily so I am going to bet on the above 2.5 goals as my pick for this match.
