For English fans and neutrals alike this is probably the biggest game of the Europa League fixtures on Thursday with Manchester United traveling to Anfield to take on arch rivals Liverpool in what should be a fiesty encounter. Liverpool had a rare away win at the weekend overcoming the loss of James Milner to a red card by taking advantage of a couple of blunders by the Crystal Palace defence. Couthino, Firminho, Milner, Henderson and Sturridge will fancy their chances against this Manchester United rear guard and we have to expect this Liverpool team to go all out for the win on Thursday. Liverpool will be well aware that they have lost eight of their last ten games against Manchester United in all competitions and will be keen to get one over on their great rivals here. Anfield is special on European night so expect the crowd to be loud and intimidating on Thursday with Jurgen Klopp experiencing his first real big European night as Liverpool manager I am certain this one will have fireworks.

Louis Van Gaal has won all four of his games in charge of Manchester United against Liverpool but this is probably the most important game he has faced against the great rivals. Both of these clubs will be looking at the Europa League as a way into the Champions League as it looks unlikely for either to be able to finish in the top four. United have been decimated by injury but the silver lining for the club has been the emergence of several youth team players and in particular Marcus Rashford who has netted four goals in his first four games for United, Varela at full back and Lingaard has really come through with the potential the club knew was there. Van Gaal made a mistake last weekend in dropping Schniederlein and Memphis and expect both to come back into the line up on Thursday night. Memphis has been spectacular in recent weeks and dropping him for the West Brom game was a massive mistake in my opinion.

This one is so finely balanced it's too tight to call in my opinion. Anything could and probably will happen, both teams had a player sent off last weekend and another red card here between these two great rivals would not surprise anyone. I am going to take the draw here as I think this one may boil down to neither team wanting to lose rather than both going all out to win. This is probably the biggest game of the season for both teams so it will be interesting to see how they both approach it.
