The Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy meet Saturday night at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
The Colorado Rapids hope to bounce back after losing a 1-0 heartbreaker to the San Jose Earthquakes. The Rapids simply couldn’t find the back of the net despite getting 18 shots overall and five of those shots on target. The Colorado Rapids didn’t play a bad season opener at all as they controlled the ball more than 58 percent of the match, but they just couldn’t get anything going on the offensive end. Dominique Badji leads Colorado with four shots, Kevin Doyle has three shots and Marco Pappa has two shots. Defensively, Zac MacMath has two saves on three shots faced. The Colorado Rapids have lost three of their last six regular season home games.

The LA Galaxy are coming off an impressive 4-1 beatdown over the DC United. The Galaxy were able to score four unanswered goals as they found the back of the net on four of their seven shots on target. The Galaxy certainly made a solid statement in their first game, but they now have to prove themselves on the road. Mike Magee leads Los Angeles with two goals, Sebastian Lletget has one assist and Steven Gerrard has three shots. Defensively, Brian Rowe has come away with five saves on five shots faced. The LA Galaxy have lost three of their last four regular season road games.
The LA Galaxy are 3-0-1 in their last four games against the Colorado Rapids. The Rapids last win over the Galaxy came in May of 2014. Three of the last four meetings between these two teams has produced at least four goals.
The Galaxy have not only owned the Rapids recently, but they looked pretty damn good in their season opener. Will the Rapids be able to keep up if a similar performance shows up? Not sure.
Give me the road team.
