Another of the UEFA Europa League ties that is finely balanced will see Bayer Leverkusen try to overcome a 2-0 first leg defeat against Villareal. Leverkusen probably would have liked an away goal to build on but it is what it is and now Bayer Leverkusen will turn to Kiebling and Javier Hernandez to try to turn this tie around. Hernandez , the former Manchester United and current Mexico striker, is having a fantastic season with fourteen league goals and five goals in Europe. Chicarito will be the key man for Bayer Leverkusen as they look to get an early goal in this one which could make Villareal panic slightly. Even if Villareal do score I think that Bayer Leverkusen have a chance here as Bayer have had plenty of free scoring games this season and with an attack of Kielbing, Calhanoglu, Hernandez they have real goalscorers who can make a difference here.
Villareal were really excellent in the first leg, efficient and work manlike would be a good way to describe the performance. Denis Suarez the highly though of you Spanish midfielder provided two assists and Bakambu the two goals. Bakambu is having a career year this season with ten goals in his first year in La Liga after a €7 million move from Turkish side Bursaspor. Soldado has also revitalised his career here after a couple of years spent in England with Tottenham where he just never got going, the former Valencia man is playing well this season and providing a good focal point for Villareal's attack. Villareal are a tough team to beat and they have only lost once this season in the Europa League away to Rapid Wien.
A tightly balanced game, two good teams and tough to break down. I like how Bayer Leverkusen have played all season though and I am going to take the German side to get a win here. Not sure it will be enough to qualify for the next round but at 9/10 the German's do represent value at the Bay Arena.
