Chile and Bolivia square off early Friday night in the 2016 Copa America at Gillette Stadium.

Chile had a disappointing showing in its opening match after losing 2-1 to Argentina. Chile struggled with Argentina’s offense, as it faced 17 total shots, five of which found the net. Offensively, the defending champs were able to find the back of the net in stoppage time, as Jose Fuenzalida scored late, which could come into play if needed to use goal differential to see who makes it out of group D. The good news for Chile is that it was able to get six shots on goal and controlled the ball for 57.6 percent of the match. Alexis Sanchez led the way with three shot attempts while Orellana had two shots and an assist. Given the team it played Chile won’t be down on itself and should still be confident in hopes of making it out of this group, especially with a victory here.

Bolivia also needs a bounceback performance after losing its opening match to Panama, 1-2. Bolivia really struggled on the defensive end as it allowed six shots on goal and ended up surrendering two goals to Blas Perez. The second goal came late in the second half to wipe away any chance of settling for a draw and earning points in the standings. Offensively, Bolivia had 12 shot attempts and three of them were on target. Juan Carlos Arce led the way with all three shots on goal and found the back of the net in the second half. Overall, the match as very chippy and physical, as there were 43 fouls called and seven yellow cards handed out. Bolivia has to put its last match behind them and hope they can put together a solid performance to pull off an upset.

Any time you have two clubs that absolutely need a victo, you tend to go with the team that’s far more talented. That’s Chilie in this match. Bolivia doesn’t have the depth or the firepower to hang with Chili, and it was outscored 5-0 when these teams met last June.

This match could be another lopsided performance, which is why I’m taking the over in a way to avoid the hefty price and spread.
