England take on Russia in the first game for both teams in this year’s Euro 2016. Both teams are massive nations and historically this is a big rivalry. I think we should expect a good game here between two sides that have a lot of national pride and passion.
England have a habit of getting into a shamble when it comes to big tournaments and secretly many English fans are a little bit worried about this. A win here will be the perfect opportunity for the three lions to get some confidence and really get into this competition. This side has a lot of talent and up front the likes of Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy have big roles to play. England will have plenty of goals and that will be a huge boost but the problem might be at the back. A pairing of Smalling and Cahill is not assuring and Joe Hart is a little bit hit and miss as well. This adds up to trouble and this might be the issue that English fans are worried about.
Russia on the other hand have been playing poorly lately but this is a nation that manages to step it up when the world is watching. This is not an easy opening game for them but I think they will cope fine. This team has a lot of passion and I think that might be their biggest strength in this tournament.
As far as results are concerned, I think we might see a draw here. England know how to muck up good opportunities and as a result I think they will fail to win in what will be a 2-2 or 1-1 draw. We are getting a good price on this bet so I am going to take it as my bet for this match.
