The second set og Group games from Group F will kick off with the meeting of Iceland and Hungary. Iceland proved to be a tough nut craic against one of the tournament favourites Portugal in their opening group game and will look to push on here against a Hungarian side who shocked a well fancied Austria.
Iceland are thoroughly enjoying their first foray into tournament football and they played exceptionally well defensively against a strong Portugal side. With the defence marshalling Nani, Ronaldo and co it gave the Icelandic midfielders some room to push forward on the counter attack. While Swansea's Sigurddson was quiet by his lofty standards he still created enough to show that he is going to be a genuine threat throughout this competition. Bjarnason managed to net the equaliser in the second half and Iceland sat back and defended heroically for the rest of the game. Iceland shocked Europe when they beat the Netherlands home and away in the qualifying Group. If they can produce a similar level of performance here on Saturday they should come through with a result.
Hungary produced one of the shocks of the first round when beating a highly fancied Austria team 2-0. Austria's troubles in converting chances opened the door for the Hungarians but when the chances appeared Szalai and substitute Stieber took them. Szalai had a rough couple of months and hasnt scored a goal for club or country in eighteen months prior to the goal against Austria. Hungary were excellent defensively though and put the pressure on Austria when no tin possession upsetting the Austrians passing game. Hungary are definitely a dark horse in the tournament but this game represents the meeting of two dark horses and is tough to call.
I'm going to take Iceland here, I've fancied this team since seeing them win in the Netherlands and I think they will get the better of a solid Hungary team. The key maybe Swansea's Sigurdsson who has been the Icelandic hero throughout qualifying and could well be the match winner today. Take Iceland at a generous price.
