The final group game from Group B will see England take on Slovakia, a win for either side could be enough to top the group depending on the result in the Wales/Russia game. England know that a win for them will see them take top spot and an easier last sixteen game but a draw or loss will most likely lead to a very tough last sixteen game. The English are more or less guaranteed of qualification though as four points will be enough to get them through as one of the best third placed teams. Rumours are circulating that Roy Hodgson is going to make up to six changes from the team that started against Wales. Obvious ones that will happen Raheem Sterling will not start, Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge will come in and it's possible Harry Kane will also see himself dropped to the bench. Deli Ali could get a rest with Jordan Henderson likely to start and both full backs could get some time off but this is a tough Slovakia team and making all these changes may not be the best move on behalf of Englands chances in the competition.
On the opposite side Slovakia will be looking to get themselves out of the group and with players of the calibre of Hamsik, Skertel, Duda and Weiss there is no reason that Slovakia cant win this game outright. Hamsik has been terrific in both games so far for Slovakia, the Napoli midfielder/striker has put himself in the shop window and no doubt there will be plenty of suitors for his precocious talents. Hamsik's ability to create space and see a pass has been evident throughout the tournament but his brilliant finish against Russia which turned out to be the match winner highlighted another facet of his skillset that hasnt always been front and center in International games. Slovakia will be marshalled at the back by former Liverpool defender Martin Skertel who will most likely be coming up against former teammate Daniel Sturridge. This could be a feisty one and I expect Skertel to leave a little on his Liverpool mate early in the game, just to say "hello".
Tough game to call here especially without seeing the line ups. If England do rest some players and take Wayne Rooney oout of the starting line up I would sort of fancy Slovakia for the upset here. I think though looking at both squads there are goals in both teams and defensive frailties also on display. I am going to take both teams to score here in what has the potential to be a fiery match up.
