France and Germany meet up on Thursday afternoon in the most anticipated match of the tournament in what many are calling the real Euro 2016 final.

France head into the semi-final of Euro 2016 on home soil coming off their best effort of the tournament as they pasted Iceland to the tune of a 5-2 final but the score line wasn’t indicative of just how dominant France were as they coasted to a 4-0 score line at the half. France hadn’t played their best through the group stage and outlasted Ireland in the Round of 16 but they really turned it up against Iceland and dashed any hopes of the Cinderella story continuing for the nation that had gripped the rest of the world. France has so much talent up top and in the mid field and have one of the best goalkeepers in the world in Hugo Lloris and while their back four get ripped apart for being a liability they have actually fared decently well in this tournament and will be a huge part of France’s game plan against a stingy German side that are the reigning World Cup champions.

Germany meanwhile back their way into the Euro 2016 semi-finals after a disastrous penalty shootout against Italy that could very well have spelled the end of their Euro bid but soccer Gods were on their side in the end as the prevailed to set up a dream match up against the hosts from France. Germany has a ton of weapons in the mid field as well but the concern remains the health of Sami Khedira who left the quarterfinal match with Italy in the very early stages and even if he is able to play in this one it likely won’t be at 100% and that could be the difference between a German win or loss. Germany does have as much talent up top as well, though not nearly as young as the French core but their edge lies at the back as Jerome Boateng is a world class defender despite his antics in the semi-final. In the end, this is going to be a spectacular match to watch and it has extra time written all over it as these two tactical sides will duke it out before an eventual, game sealing marker from France in extra time.
