Without doubt one of the games of the week will see Atletico Madrid host Chelsea at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitiano in what should be a decisive game in determining the winner of Group C of the UEFA Champions League.
Atletico Madrid have had a fine start to the Spanish League and sit in second just four points behind a red hot Barcelona team who have won all six of their opening games. Diego Simeone's side just announced they will be signing Diego Costa from Chelsea in January, the Spanish striker fell out with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and has not played for the Blues since last season, this will provide a nice sub plot to this game but will have no impact on the outcome. Antonio Griezmann will be the key man for Atletico Madrid as they look to the french striker to lead the line against a solid Chelsea defence. WIth Greizmann, Vietto, Carrasco there is plenty of attacking talent in Madrid and with Diego Godin, Savic and Felipe Luis they have a solid defence. Simeone will be looking for his team to pick up their first win of the Champions League campaign here but it wont be easy.
Antonio Conte will relish the challenge of taking on Atletico Madrid in Spain. Conte is a competitior and will have his team primed for this game. After a shaky start to the Premier League campaign the Blues have got themselves back on track winning four of their last five in all competitions scoring seventeen in those five games. With Batshuayi, Hazard and Alvaro Morata there is plenty of fire power in this Chelsea team. Chelsea have historically been conservative on the road especially in Europe. Conte is a different manager but most of the top managers tend to play more conservatively when facing top opposition away from home. Chelsea will have David Luiz available for this game, although the Brazilian center half is suspended domestically he will surely line out in the heart of the defence tonight.
Atletico started this year's Champion League campaign with a draw at Roma, I believe that there may be another draw in store for us here. Chelsea are going to be tough to break down and Atletico will have to be careful of Chelsea's counter attacking prowess. I'm going to take Chelsea +1 in what should be a really entertaining game of football.
