Chelsea will play host to Stoke City on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, is there any chance Stoke could upset the odds as +1900 under dogs?
Stoke City have been in terrible form and are 2-3-5 in their last ten overall. The Potters though are unbeaten in their last two and got a much needed win two games ago against Bournemouth. There was some luck involved in that win and to be fair the potters deserved a little as things had pretty much gone against them in every tight game over the last month. Stoke manager Mark Hughes though will still be on a tight rope and a hammering here against his former club Chelsea could be the final straw. Look for Stoke to set up a 4-5-1 to try to counteract Chelsea's flying wingbacks and to play most of this game on the counter attack. Stoke will be looking to Shaqiri, Diouf and the hard working Choupu Moting to hit Chelsea on the counter attack. Whether or not it will be enough though remains to be seen.
Chelsea are 4-1-0 in their last five overall and 9-3-1 in their last thirteen in all competitions. The Blues have hit form at the right time and they come into this game as massive favourites seven to one on to win the game in most bookmakers. While Antonio Conte's side have been ruthlessly efficient they have not been winning by big margins.Three of their last five wins have come by just a solitary goal. With Eden Hazard, Morata, Batshuayi and Fabregas there is goals and creativity in this side but they do sometimes struggle to break down teams who come to the bridge and "park the bus" or play a game based on counter attack only and numbers behind the ball.
This one is tough to find value in. One market i do like though is the number of first half goals. I'm taking the under 1.5 first half goals at 8/13. While I think Chelsea might very well go in leading by 1 I cant see there being more than one goal in the first half and I am also tempted by no first half goals at 7/2. This one could be a backs to the wall defensive job by Stoke. A game plan that they are actually well equipped to play .
