The late FA Cup kick off will see Championship side Norwich City take on Chelsea at Carrow Road, can the underdogs spring a surprise on the reigning Premier League Champions?
Norwich City are 2-2-1 in their last five home games and 2-1-2 in their last five overall. Norwich have struggled at times this year in the Championship, two years since being relegated from the Premier League and the Canaries do not look like they will manage to bounce back this year so a third year in the second tier looks likely. There is lots of Premier League experience in this group of players though, mixed with some youthful exuberance. Wes Hoolohan, Muprhy, Oliviera and Jerome along with center back Russell Martin brings the experience while former Tottenham youngster alex Pritchard and center half Cristoph Zimmerman bring the youth. Norwich will be looking for a boost to their league campaign and a win here against Chelsea could certainly be a spark for the rest of their Championship season.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is expected to rest several key men on Saturday. Hazard, Fabregas, Cahill, Courtois and Morata are all likely to move to the bench with Willian, Caballero, Batshuayi likely to start. This is a Chelsea squad that has question marks over it's strength in depth. Conte is on record this season saying that he does not have the required strengh in depth to compete in Europe and in the Premier League. The loss of Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid is sort of null and void as Costa was not available for Conte all season but it highlights the fact that Chelsea have just two experienced strikers in the squad. Not enough to fight on three fronts, or even on two fronts with the demands on Premier League players right now.
I think this is an FA Cup game where we could see a shock. Norwich while not in brilliant form are likely to play their strongest side and with 27,000+ rocking Carrow Road this should be an incredible atmosphere for the late featured TV game. I'm going to go with Norwich to shock the Premier League Champions and get the win here at an enormous price.
