The first leg of the Carabao Cup semi final between Manchester City and Bristol City comes from the Ethiad Arena in Manchester. The Premier League leaders will be looking to continue the fight for 4 trophies and will look to use home advantage here. Pep Guardiola's side staged a late comeback against Burnley in the FA Cup to continue the dream of a clean sweep of trophies alive. Manchester City come into this game still unbeaten domestically this season. Manchester City are 4-1-0 in their last five overall and 5-0 in their last five home games. Raheem Sterling is top scorer for Manchester City at the moment, the former Liverpool winger has found the net 14 times in his 20 league appearances so far this season. Sergio Aguero is second on the team with thirteen league goals. Guardiola has an abundance of talent offensively with Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva pulling the strings in midfield and the aformentioned Sterling and Aguero up top. Its hard to see how Bristol City will be able to cope with this much attacking talent.
Bristol City come into this game in a poor run of form. Bristol are 1-1-3 in their last five overall. Bristol will be looking to repeat their giant killing act after knocking Manchester United out in the Quarter final but that was a different format, a once off game and it was in Bristol with Jose Mourhino resting a number of starters. Bristol will look to Bobby Reid to continue his strong goal scoring form, Reid has 12 goals in 26 appearances this season and has been the main goal threat for Bristol this year.
Tough game to find value in but it could depend on what team Pep Guardiola plays. Manchester City have a massive game in the Premier League this Sunday when they travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool. It wouldnt surprise me to see Guardiola play a number of fringe players in this game against Bristol City which could make the game closer. Until we see the lineup's I wouldnt be going to too heavy on this game but considering that Manchester City is likely to rest some starters taking Bristol City +1.5 on the first half handicap looks like a value bet to me.
* Manchester City have led by more than 1.5 goals at halftime in just 1 of their last 7 games in all competitions.
*Bristol City have trailed by more than 1.5 goals just once in their last 16 games in all competitions
