The second semi final in the Carabao Cup comes from Stamford Bridge where we have an all london derby with Arsenal traveling to take on Chelsea. This is a two tie semi final with the first leg at Stamford Bridge and the second at the Emirates in two weeks.
These two played out a scintillating game a week ago when drawing 2-2 at the Emirates. In that game Arsenal took the lead only to go 2-1 behind before finding a late qualizer through full back Hector Bellerin. Arsene Wenger will be looking at this cup as a chance to win some silver ware this season, in fact this is Arsenal's best chance of a cup, especially after the Gunners were unceremoniously dumped out of the FA Cup at the weekend by Nottingham Forrest. Wenger will turn to star trio of Sanzhez, Ozil and Wilshire to inspire the gunners here against a very good Chelsea team. Arsenal are 1-3-1 in their last five overall and 1-3-1 in their last five away games. In games between the two both teams Arsenal have won one , Chelsea have won one and there have been three draws ,in the last five games.
The Premier League Champions Chelsea come into this game unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions. Chelsea are 2-3 in their last five games and 5-1 in their last six home games. Antonio Conte took the opportunity to rest a lot of his starters in the FA Cup tie at Norwich and I expect him to ring the changes here on Wednesday with Hazard, Morata, Willian, Fabregas and Courtois all expected back in the starting line up. Chelsea played a good game at the Emirates in the recent 2-2 draw with Arsenal but for long periods they were on the back foot in that game. Hazard is the key man for Chelsea as he has been for years now, he runs the show from midfield and against Arsenal he showed glimpses of his brilliance. He will be the chief creator in chelsea's midfield alongside former Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas.
This game looks to be a really good match up between two well matched teams. Personally I think this should closer to a coinflip in odds and while I understand that Chelsea have been strong at home this season they have struggled somewhat against the bigger teams. The two teams have cancelled each other out in both games they played this year with a 0-0 and 2-2 draw. I see no reason not to take the draw again here in what should be a great game of football.
