The last two Premier League winners will come fact to face in Stamford Bridge on saturday as Chelsea host Leicester City.
Leicester come into this game off the back of an important league win against Huddersfield. Rumours abound that Riyad Mahrez will eb subject to lots of transfer interest this January. The dimunitive winger has been back to his title winning season form and he is providing alot of inspiration and creativity for Leicester. If Mahrez leaves the biggest loser will be Jamie Vardy who has an almost telepathic link with Mahrez and benefits from the wingers vision and passing. Vardy himself is having another solid season. With nine goals in 21 appearances Vardy hasnt been as prolific as previous years but he carries a threat every time he is on the pitch and puts in 100% everytime he plays. With Okazaki, Mahrez and Vardy the Foxes have plenty of attacking talent to trouble Chelsea.
Antonio Conte's side come into this game after a gripping encounter against Arsenal in the Carabao cup. Conte's side while still the Premier League Champions will know that the chances of them repeating is slim if not none with Manchester City absolutely on fire this year. Conte's side are still reliant on Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and the wing back play of Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses. While Alvaro Morata was an excellent signing for the long term , the Spanish striker has struggled a little of late and was really off form against Arsenal in the blues last league game. But with 10 goals Morata is still Chelsea's top scorer and biggest goal scoring threat. Chelsea have dominated this fixture against Leicester winning 11 of the last 16 between the teams. Chelsea fans will expect another home win here.
I think this one isnt as clear cut as the bookmakers are making it. I fancy Leicester City to give Chelsea plenty of problems on the counter attack and I think Vardy and Mahrez can provide opportunities for the Foxes to get something from this one. I'm going to take Leicester City on the handicap 2 goals is just too much to give this tricky , hardworking team.
