On Saturday Burnley will travel to Selhurt Park to take on an inform Crystal Palace team who have moved out of the relegation zone and have an eye on the top half of the Barclays Premier League.
Burnley come into this game in stuttering form going 0-3-2 in their last five overall and 0-3-2 in their last five away games. Burnley have not won in six and Sean Dyche's side have fallen away a little but it's a credit to the team and Dyche that they are as high as seventh in the table. Burnley were one of the favourites for relegation this season but Dyche has found a way to make the team tough to beat. Burnley dont condede alot of goals, conceding just ninteen goals in 22 games this year less than 1 a game. Upfront though Burnley have struggled to score and have actually managed just ninteen in the 22 league games. Wood, Arfield, Barnes and Vokes are going to have to contribute more if Burnley are to stay in the top half of the table.
Crystal Palace were in last place in the league and looked to be in a hopeless position when Roy Hodgson took over. The former England manager though has revitalised the Eagles and they are flying at the moment. Crystal Palace are 2-2-1 in their last five overall and one of those draws stopped Manchester City's record breaking run of consecutive league wins. This Palace side have some talent and defensively they have been excellent , especially at home. Crystal Palace have lost just once in their last nine home games. With Wilfred Zaha, Cabaye, Benteke, Andros Townsend there is plenty of attacking talent and Zaha in particular is a game winner on his day. It's tough to mark the former Manchester United winger who's pace, power and trickery are among the best in the league.
While I do think Crystal Palace have turned a corner and will avoid relegation I think they might struggle here against a resolute Burnley defence. Burnley after being historically bad last season in away match have turned it around and been very impressive away from home this season. Burnley have picked up points at Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United and beat Chelsea on the road this season. This is enough for me to say that Burnley on the handicap here look a solid play.
