West Ham United and Stoke City meet Monday in Premier League soccer at London Stadium.
West Ham United has earned points in three of its last six matches and looks to win back-to-back Premier League home games for the first time since December of 2016. West Ham United could also get a much needed spark from Andy Carroll, who may return from an ankle injury he suffered a couple of months ago. West Ham has been much better defensively as of late, allowing just one goal in its last two matches and that success will be key if this team hopes to continue making strides after some rough performances earlier in the year. Offensively, Marko Arnautovic leads West Ham with nine goals, Aaron Cresswell has six assists and Michail Antonio has 34 shots.

Stoke City has failed to earn points in each of its last four matches and is coming off a 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. Stoke City continues to struggle on the offensive end, as this club has been held to one or less goals in each of its last nine matches. In fact, Stoke has scored no more than two goals in every match since December 26, a recipe that’s not going to lead to many positive results in the standings, even if this is a decent defensive club that’s top-10 in goals allowed and has three clean sheets. This will be the last game Charlie Adam misses due to suspension. Overall, Xherdan Shaqiri leads Stoke City with seven goals, Joe Allen has six assists and Mame Biram Diouf has 49 shots.
West Ham United did win the last meeting in December of last year, but Stoke City is 3-0-5 in the other eight meetings, so the history is rather one-sided between these two clubs.
It’s been a while since West Ham United has won back-to-back PL home games, and Stoke City has owned this club over the years. However, things aren’t looking so hot for Stoke right now, a team that sits at the bottom with just seven goals scored. With some momentum gained out of its last two matches, this is a good chance the streak comes to an end. I like West Ham United to get the victory at home.
