Atlanta United FC and Philadelphia Union meet Saturday in MLS soccer action at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Atlanta United FC enters this match with an overall record of 8-3-2, a 4-2-1 record at home and a 4-1-1 record on the road. Atlanta United FC look to keep the ball rolling after earning points in 10 of its last 12 matches and expanding its lead in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta United FC has been able to take advantage of a balanced attack that’s averaging 2.1 goals and allowing just 1.3 goals. Atlanta United FC is currently just one of three teams in all of the MLS to have a double-digit goal differential. At home, Atlanta United FC is outscoring teams by 1.3 goals per match and has scored four or more goals in its new stadium three times. Needless to say, Atlanta United FC is a scary team to play these days. Josef Martinez leads Atlanta with nine goals, Miguel Almirón has five assists and Hector Villalba has 18 shots.

Philadelphia Union enters this match with an overall record of 5-5-3, a 4-1-2 record at home and a 1-4-1 record on the road. Philadelphia Union enters this match on a hot streak, as they’ve earned points in four straight matches and are coming off a 3-1 win Wednesday over the Chicago Fire. Philadelphia Union have had issues finding the back of the net all season long, but they’ve combined for seven goals in their last three matches and now have four players on their roster with at least two goals. Philadelphia Union could be a team to watch given this consistency as of late and an offense that has found a spark to go along with a defense that has pitched four shutouts. Borek Dockal leads Philly with three goals, Alejandro Bedoya has three assists and CJ Sapong has 28 shots.
These teams played twice back in 2017, with the August meeting being a 2-2 draw and the September clash being a 3-0 win for Atlanta.
We’re not getting a great price on Atlanta United FC in this match, but they’re a tough team to bet against right now, especially at home where they have lit teams on fire and are outscoring clubs by 1.3 goals. If Atlanta finds early offense in this match, the Philadelphia Union are cooked due to their offensive issues, I don’t care about the recent success against lesser teams.
So, I’ll lay the juice and back Atlanta in a victory.
