Montreal Impact and Houston Dynamo meet Saturday in MLS soccer action at Stade Saputo.

Montreal Impact enters this match with an overall record of 3-10-0, a 2-3-0 record at home and a 1-7-0 record on the road. Montreal Impact are desperate for a victory that would snap a four-match losing streak and help them get out of the bottom of the standings. Nothing has gone right for the Montreal Impact this season, as this club can’t get stops on the defensive end, allowing 2.2 goals on the season and hasn’t produced a clean sheet since its March 31 victory over Seattle. Until the defense improves, the results will continue to be ugly for the Montreal Impact, a club that made the conference finals just two years ago. Ignacio Piatti leads Montreal with five goals, Alejandro Silva has two assists and Saphir Taïder has 33 shots.

Montreal Impact vs. Houston Dynamo - 6/2/18 MLS Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Houston Dynamo enters this match with an overall record of 5-4-3, a 4-2-0 record at home and a 1-2-3 record on the road. Houston Dynamo are coming off a road loss to Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, but this club has still earned points in four of its last five matches. Houston Dynamo is a heavy offensive team that’s scored two or more goals in six of its last eight matches and is even averaging 1.8 goals on the road this season. Houston Dynamo has four different players who have scored at least three goals and three of those players also have double-digit shots on goal. Needless to say, when that offense is aggressive and getting good looks, good things happen for this fun playoff contender. Alberth Elis leads Houston with eight goals, Romell Quioto has six assists and Mauro Manotas has 32 shots.

Houston Dynamo has won three of the last five matches against Montreal Impact, which includes a 3-1 victory in the last match back in July. The other two matches were victories for the Impact in 2016 and 2014. Four of the last five matches have produced at least three goals.

There’s just no backing the Montreal Impact in their current form, as they’re making a strong case for the worst team in the MLS and that defense isn’t getting better any time soon. Houston Dynamo have had their way with Montreal in the past and has the offense to do similar work. It’s tough to make a case for Montreal to do anything positive at the moment.

Give me Houston Dynamo in an outright victory.
