Romania and Finland meet Tuesday in International Friendly soccer action at the Stadionul Ilie Oana.
Romania plays its last friendly match before the UEFA Nations League, as this club hasn’t reached the World Cup since 1998. The good news is that Romania has won each of its last three friendly matches and has found the back of the net in six of its last seven matches overall. In its most recent match against Chile, Romania won 3-2, as Nicolae Stanciu, Ciprian Deac and Constantin Budescu all scored for the Tricolours. Romania has scored at least two goals in four of its last seven matches and has won four straight when finding the back of the net at least once. Romania has clearly found its offensive punch over the last few matches and should be eager to put on a show in front of its home fans.

Finland once again failed to qualify for the World Cup despite earning a victory over Iceland. Finland just can’t catch a break and earn a berth in a big tournament to kind of put itself on the map. Still, that hasn’t stopped Finland from seeing a lot of positive results lately, which includes a 5-0 win over Malta in its most recent match. In that victory, Finland led the match from start to finish thanks to two goals from Teemu Pukki, while Fredrik Jensen and Pyry Soiri finished it off late. Finland has now scored two or more goals in three of its last four matches and should enter this contest with a great deal of confidence, even if its recent opponents haven’t exactly been great competition. Also, Finland is one of the more experienced teams in friendly play, as as there’s eight players with at least 20 caps on its current squad. Success on the road against a more talented club could do wonders for this team moving forward.
Romania has won three of the last four meetings against Finland, which includes to shutouts. However, the most recent match resulted in a 1-1 draw, back in a 2015 UEFA European Championship. Three of the last four matches have produced at least two goals.
Both of these clubs have been in quite a groove offensively as of late, whether it’s Finland scoring five times in its last match or Romania scoring at least twice in four of its last seven matches. With really nothing on the line here, expect another aggressive offensive attack from both sides.
Give me the over.
