Norway and Panama meet Wednesday in International Friendly soccer action at Ullevaal Stadion.

Norway hasn’t qualified for the World Cup since 1998, so this club really has nothing to play for until the UEFA Nations League. However, Norway has built some positive momentum as of late, winning each of its last three matches, which includes a recent 3-2 victory over Iceland. In the victory, Norway controlled possession for 56 percent of the match, while Bjorn Maars, Joshua King and Alexander Sorloth all found the back of the net. Norway also has a recent win over Australia, so this club has shown it can beat some of the big boys, it’s just about doing it when it counts. Norway has scored a combined eight goals in its last three matches and has scored at least once in eight of its last 11 matches. Another solid performance against another World Cup qualifier, and Norway has to really like the direction its heading the last couple of months.

Panama vs. Norway - 6/6/18 International Friendly Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Panama plays its last friendly match before opening up the World Cup with a match against Belgium. It will be the first ever World Cup appearance for Panama, so you can imagine the excitement going around for this club. Panama is also the oldest team in the tournament with an average age of 29.4 years old. Panama could be the replacement team for United States fans considering there’s six MLS players on the current squad, including New York’s Fidel Escobar and Michael Murillo. Panama is coming off a 0-0 draw against Northern Ireland and hasn’t allowed a goal in each of its last two matches. It’s going to be interesting to see the focus of this club with their eyes likely already looking ahead to the biggest moment for this team.

There’s no previous meetings between these two sides.

Norway is going to look to push the pace and be aggressive offensively like it has been in past matches. Panama couldn’t probably care less about this match with the World Cup right around the corner and an aging roster that isn’t trying to run out of gas before it arrives. This could make for an offensive shootout with two clubs not eager to give its best defensive effort.

Give me the over.
