We have some MLS action from BC Place on Saturday as a pair of 6th place teams duke it out when the Vancouver Whitecaps host Orlando City in a soccer matchup.

The Vancouver Whitecaps will look to keep their momentum going after going unbeaten in their last five matches, snapping a four game draw streak with a 2-1 win over Colorado in their last outing. Cristian Techera opened the scoring for Vancouver 17 minutes in before Yordy Reyna doubled the Whitecaps’ lead in the 39th minute. Colorado pulled one back just two minutes later, but Vancouver closed the door in the 2nd half for the win. Techera has pushed his team-high scoring tally to 6 goals this season, with a team leading 11 shots on target, while Kei Kamara is tied with the aforementioned Reyna for the team lead in assists with 3 while also taking a team-high 26 shots this season.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Orlando City will be out to snap a four game losing streak after being shut out by New York City FC in their last outing by a final score of 3-0. Orlando maintained quite a bit of possession, holding onto the ball for 52% of the match, but were outshot by NYCFC 16 to 11, with New York putting 5 shots on target to Orlando City’s 2. Dom Dwyer leads Orlando City with 6 goals this season while Yoshimar Yotun leads with 4 assists. Dwyer has also notched 12 shots on target, while Justin Meram leads the team with 26 shots off target this season.

The three all-time meetings between these two teams favours the Whitecaps, as Vancouver owns a pair of road wins and a home draw against Orlando City. Something also worth noting, the last two matches have seen both teams get on the scoresheet.

I’m seeing that Dom Dwyer may be listed as doubtful for this match with a leg injury, and even so, I’m not sure how anyone can instill any confidence in Orlando City at the moment. The team has simply looked brutal, and while Vancouver only won their most recent outing, they’re still getting a string of positive results as of late, so I’ll side with Vancouver to get a home win to keep their unbeaten record against Orlando City in tact.
