We have some MLS action from Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday night, as LAFC host the Columbus Crew.

LAFC come into this one looking to build some steam after snapping a four game winless drought in league play with a thrilling 4-3 victory over San Jose in their last outing. LAFC found themselves down 1-0 11 minutes in, before netting a pair of goals in 4 minutes starting with an Adama Diomande goal in the 15th and a Steven Beitashour marker in the 19th minute. LA found themselves down 3-2 by the 63rd minute but rallied late in the 2nd half with a 2nd goal from Diomande in the 90th and a winner from Joao Moutinho in the 7th minute of stoppage time, right after San Jose went down to 10 men for a 2nd yellow card. Carlos Vela leads LAFC in scoring with 7 goals this season, but will be missing this match due to international duties with Mexico at the World Cup. Diego Rossi is 2nd with 5 goals and shares the team lead in assists with 4 assists this season with Marcos Urena who is also on international duty.

LAFC vs. Columbus Crew - 6/23/18 MLS Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Columbus Crew will be looking to bounce back after having their 9 game unbeaten run snapped with a 2-0 loss to Atlanta United in their last outing. The Crew fell behind 30 minutes in and Atlanta doubled that advantage in the 82nd minute, ultimately handing all three points to Atlanta in the end. Columbus was outpossessed by Atlanta 53%-47%, with 13 shots to Atlanta’s 6, but it was quality not quantity for Atlanta as each side has three shots on target. Gyasi Zardes leads the Crew with 10 goals this season, while Federico Higuain is Columbus’ leading assist man with 5 assists this season.

This will be the first head-to-head meeting between the two sides.

LAFC finally got off of the snide, but the problem is that they barely scraped by arguably the worst side in the entire MLS. Columbus ended up as hard luck losers in their last outing but are in much better form between the two sides. With that said, a lot of Columbus’ form came in the form of a draw and with both sides missing some talent due to the World Cup, I think both will play it somewhat safe, leading to a draw at the final whistle.
