The Line: Poland +177 / Draw +215 / Colombia +184 -- Over/Under: 2.5 See the Latest Odds

We have some Group H World Cup action on Sunday, as a pair of teams looking for their first points square off as Poland takes on Colombia from the Kazan Arena.

Poland will be looking to rebound from what many considered to be a shock 2-1 defeat at the hands of Senegal to kick off their tournament this past Tuesday. Things started off rough for Poland, as Thiago Cionek gave Senegal the lead with an own goal in the 37th minute before falling behind by two goals at the hour mark. Grzegorz Krychowiak pulled one back for Poland in the 86th minute but it was too little too late as Poland ended up with the loss. Poland had the advantage statistically, owning 59% possession to Senegal’s 41%, with 10 shots (4 on target) to Senegal’s 8 (2 on target).

Colombia on the other hand will also be looking for their first points of the World Cup after starting the tournament with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Japan on Sunday morning. The Colombians found themselves down to 10 men just 3 minutes into the game after Carlos Sanchez was sent off for a hand ball in the box. Japan scored the ensuing penalty to take a 1-0 lead and it stayed that way until the 39th minute before Juan Quintero equalized for Colombia. Japan re-took the lead from a set piece in the 73rd minute which ultimately handed Japan the loss. The Colombians found themselves dominated by Japan, being out possessed 58%-42%, and being outshot 14-8 with Japan having 6 shots on target to Colombia’s 3.

These two teams have only met once in an international friendly in 2006, a game Colombia won 2-1.

I have to keep checking to make sure that the standings in this group are not upside down because I had the table the exact opposite way in my predictions after the first round of games. With that said, both sides will be eager to claim points as a loss would end their World Cup with nothing but disappointment heading into the final match of the group stage. All in all, I think these two sides are even despite what the line says, and I will take the two to cancel each other out with a draw at the full time whistle. Braver punters can also take a chance on the full time score line being 1-1.
