We have some MLS action on Saturday night from Toyota Stadium as FC Dallas hosts Chicago Fire.
FC Dallas comes into this match looking to bounce back after splitting their last four league outings following a 2-0 road defeat at Real Salt Lake last time out. FC Dallas fell 1-0 behind just 11 minutes in from the penalty spot and it stayed that way until Luis Silva gave RSL all three points in the first minute of second half stoppage time. Dallas were out possessed 61%-39% and outshot 14-13 and 6-2 in terms of shots on target. Roland Lamah leads the Hoops with 7 goals this season while Mauro Diaz is FC Dallas’ leading assist man with 4 helpers this season.

Chicago Fire will also be looking to rebound after consecutive losses following a 4-3 loss in a thriller against Philadelphia Union in their last outing. Philadelphia never got more than one goal ahead, going one goal ahead in the 31st, 45th and 73rd minutes with Chicago responding with goals from Nemanja Nikolic in the 39th, Aleksandar Katai in the 69th and Bastian Schweinsteiger drawing the Fire to 3-3 in the 4th minute of second half stoppage time. That draw would last a matter of seconds however, as David Accam gave the Union all three points with a 4th goal in the 5th minute of stoppage time. The Fire owned the possession battle 60%-40%, with the Union outshooting Chicago 13-11 with each side having 6 shots on target. Katai and Nikolic are tied for the Fire lead in scoring with 9 goals each while Schweinsteiger leads Chicago with 5 assists this season.
Head-to-head, the home side has had the bulk of the success, winning five out of the last six meetings, with Chicago owning the same winning percentage over that timespan.
Chicago’s form over the years against the Hoops makes the heavy plus money on the away win worth a look. However, FC Dallas is unbeaten at home this season, and Chicago is starting to look like they’ve reverted to the struggling form from a few weeks ago. I think Dallas keeps their unbeaten record at home in tact and takes all three points in this game.
