We have some MLS action from Gillette Stadium on Saturday evening as the New England Revolution take on the LA Galaxy.

The New England Revolution will look to keep their unbeaten run going which currently sits at seven games following a scoreless draw against the Seattle Sounders in their last outing. The Revolution owned 55% possession in what many watching considered to be quite a dull matchup considering the talent on both sides. The Revs outshot the Sounders 9-6 in the game, with each side logging one single shot on target. Teal Bunbury leads New England with 10 goals this season, while Cristian Penilla and Diego Fagundez share the Revs lead in assists with 5 apiece this season.

The LA Galaxy will also be looking to keep an unbeaten run in tact which sits at five games following a 4-0 thrashing of Columbus Crew last time out. Ola Kamara gave the Galaxy the lead just before half time in the 42nd minute, before Zlatan Ibrahimovic doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in the 56th. Romain Alessandrini game on as a substitute at the hour mark and secured a brace in the 67th and 93rd minutes to give the Galaxy their eventual full time four goal margin. LA were actually out possessed and outshot by Columbus, 60%-40% and 20-14 respectively with each side logging 5 shots on goal. Ibrahimovic leads LA in scoring with 11 goals this season while Ema Boateng is the Galaxy’s leader in assists with 5 on the year.

Head-to-head, the home side has gone unbeaten in the last five clashes, with three wins and two draws. It’s also worth noting that the last five and six or the last seven meetings have seen both teams on the score sheet and six of the seven have seen at least four goals scored.

I can understand why New England is favoured here, as the home team has had the bulk of the success between the two in recent memory. However, the Revs haven’t been particularly dominant in their run of form, and the Galaxy have the offense to cause issues as seen in their victory against Columbus. But given both teams run of form, I think the draw is the way to go here, and braver punters may want to chase the final score line of 2-2 as I see this one being entertaining from start to finish.
