We have some MLS action on Sunday as Minnesota United plays host to Los Angeles FC from the TCF Bank Stadium.
Minnesota United comes into this match looking to build on back-to-back home victories, including a 2-1 triumph over the New England Revolution in their last outing. Christian Ramirez gave Minnesota the lead just 5 minutes into the match and Darwin Quintero doubled that advantage just before the half. Diego Fagundez pulled one back for the Revs but it was too little too late as Minnesota secured all three points for a second straight game. Minnesota ended up the losing end of the possession battle, 44% to New England’s 56% and were outshot 17-13, with each side notching 7 shots on target. Quintero leads Minnesota United with 8 goals this season, while Miguel Ibarra leads Minnesota in assists with 4 assists this season.

LAFC come into this match on a six game unbeaten run of their own after a scoreless draw with Portland in their last outing. It was a fairly tame affair between two of the best in the west, with both sides having plenty of offensive chances and two yellow cards being dished out in the first half. Lee Nguyen received a straight red card in the 84th minute for a poor challenge. LAFC dominated the bulk of the possession with 56% possession to Portland’s 44%, with LAFC outshooting the Timbers 13-11 with each side knocking 6 shots on goal. Adam Diomande leads LAFC in scoring with 9 goals while Latif Blessing leads with 5 assists this season.
The lone meeting between these two sides was a 2-0 victory for LAFC back in May.
It’s not often that you get a home underdog in MLS and Minnesota is actually perfect I their last three home games. However, I’m not sure you can bet against LAFC away from home, and even though it’s a good price on the visitors, I’ve bet against Minnesota the last two times out and been wrong both times. Instead, I’m going to side with the over as both teams have shown lately that they can find the back of the net.
