Manchester United and Liverpool have had a long rivalry over the years but they will be playing a friendly game on Saturday as the sides prepare for the Premier League season. Both teams are expected to challenge for the title this season and it will be interesting to see how the teams have prepared.
With these games not counting for much, it has given Jurgen Klopp a chance to play the likes of Origi and Sturridge. Neither player had much of a chance to play last season due to the amazing form of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah but getting minutes under the belt in preseason will be important if the English of Belgian striker is needed during the regular season. Daniel Sturridge has been quite impressive and Klopp acknowledged this in his speech to the press so that will get the former England international confidence. It is unclear how Liverpool will line-up for this match but I am not expecting many superstars to play.

On the other side of the coin, Mourinho has made said he is unhappy with the late return of his World Cup players. The likes of Pogba, Lukaku and Matic are all back from their break but I don’t see them playing. That being said, Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial should both play in this fixture so there will be enough talent on show. Manchester United have more players missing than Liverpool so I am not expecting the Red Devils to win.
All in all, I am going to predict that Liverpool wins this match. At full strength, Manchester United is the better team but with many players missing I don’t think the Red Devils will have enough to beat the Reds. Liverpool have shown good form in the preseason and I think that will continue in this match. Expect this to be a high scoring contest since both teams are filled with talented strikers and many top defenders are missing.
