The Line: Toronto -175 / Draw +315 / Chicago +450 -- Over/Under: 3 See the Latest Odds

TV: TSN4, ESPN+

We have some MLS action from BMO Field as Toronto FC play host to the Chicago Fire in the 2nd half of a home and home set from last week.

Last week’s tilt between these two sides from Toyota Park saw TFC emerge as 2-1 victors, snapping their six game winless drought while pushing Chicago’s losing streak to four games. The game was a scoreless stalemate for the first half, with a yellow card being branded on each side. Sebastian Giovinco broke the deadlock just 2 minutes after the break on an assist from Michael Bradley. Nemanja Nikolic equalized in the 62nd minute for the Fire before Jonathan Osorio gave Toronto the lead back just 3 minutes later, resulting in the away win.

Toronto FC vs. Chicago Fire - 7/28/18 MLS Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

Toronto FC owned the possession battle, posting 53% possession to Chicago’s 47%, with the Fire outshooting Toronto 11-10, but it was TFC that had the more quality chances, putting 6 shots on target to Chicago’s 2.

Osorio leads Toronto FC with 7 goals this season, while Giovinco is the Reds’ leading assist man with 4 assists this season. Nikolic leads the Fire with 10 goals this season, while Bastian Schweinsteiger is Chicago’s leader in assists with 5 helpers on the year.

Head-to-head, Toronto FC are unbeaten in the last eight league meetings with Chicago, with wins in seven of the eight, including their victory last week. It’s also worth noting that each of the last six league meetings and 15 of the last 17 meetings between these two teams have seen both teams get on the scoresheet.

Beating the same team twice in a row is difficult, especially in a league like the MLS where the talent level is divided equally for the most part. However, Toronto has flat out owned the Fire over the years, and getting Jozy Altidore back in the lineup seemed to do something for Toronto’s confidence. Given the head-to-head trends, I think Toronto can secure another 3 points at the final whistle. If you’re not trying to pick a side however, I’d also recommend betting on the both teams to score market as it’s had a lot of success in this fixture.
