Real Madrid and Juventus meet Saturday in International Champions Cup soccer action at FedExField.

Real Madrid is coming off a 1-2 loss to Manchester United, despite controlling 71 percent of the match and getting off 15 shot attempts. Real Madrid has now produced a win in just two of its last seven matches and its most recent result had to be the most frustrating. Real Madrid just couldn’t get off many quality looks and was in a 0-2 hole within the first 30 minutes. Karim Benzema found the back of the net before the second half, but that’s about the only positive thing to come from the losing effort. The good news is that Real Madrid has produced at least one goal in each of its last 19 matches, and when you’re that consistent and can find offense even on a shaky day, positive results are going to take place. It’s also worth mentioning Real Madrid has played just one match over the last two months.

Juventus vs. Real Madrid - 8/4/18 Friendly Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Juventus is coming off a 1-1 draw against the MLS All-Stars, a match in which it eventually won on penalty kicks. Juventus controlled the ball for 48 percent of the match and got six shots on goal compared to seven shots for the home team. Andrea Favilli produced the only goal for the Old Lady during regulation. Juventus has now produced a positive result in each of its last eight matches and has won seven of those matches, even with the last two needing to be decided in penalty kicks. Juventus looks to be really polished defensively and is providing enough confidence that this club will be ready once Serie A takes place. You have to be impressed with what you’ve seen from this club recently, preseason matches or not.

These teams split the previous two meetings back in April during the UEFA Champions League. The last five meetings between these clubs overall have been split at 2-2-1 apiece, with the one draw coming in the 2015 UEFA Champions League. Four of the last five meetings have produced at least three goals.

Real Madrid should have some of the rust off after finally getting a match under its belt, and Juventus has been clicking on both sides during this impressive winning stretch. The matches between these sides over the years have been high scoring, with four of the last five producing at least three goals.

I’m siding with the over 2.5 goals.
