We have some MLS action on tap Sunday from Red Bull Arena as the New York Red Bulls host LAFC.

The New York Red Bulls will be looking to bounce back after having their three game winning streak snapped with a 3-2 loss to Columbus Crew in their last outing. New York went from a scoreless draw to 3-0 down by the 31st minute as Columbus struck three times on the scoreboard in the 7th, 24th and 31st minutes respectively. New York took advantage of a Columbus own goal and a 69th minute strike from Daniel Royer to bring it back to 3-2 but the home side fell just short at the final whistle. New York won the possession battle 53%-47%, and outshot the Crew 13-10 and 5-3 in terms of shots on target. Bradley Wright-Phillips leads the Red Bulls with 14 goals this season while Alejandro Romero Gamarra is New York’s leading assist man with 10 helpers this season.

New York Red Bulls vs. LAFC - 8/5/18 MLS Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

LAFC come into this match looking to bounce back from consecutive matches without a victory, following a 2-2 draw in the Los Angeles Derby last time out. LAFC went 2-0 up just 20 minutes in thanks to a pair of goals 13 minutes apart from Carlos Vela in the 7th and Lee Nguyen in the 20th. The match stayed that way for most of the second half before the Galaxy struck twice in 4 minutes to draw level and see both sides split the points in an entertaining match. LAFC were outpossessed 53%-47%, but outshot the Galaxy 18-15 including 7-4 in terms of shots on goal. Adama Diomande leads LAFC with 9 goals this season while Latif Blessing is LAFC’s top assist man with 6 helpers on the year.

This will be the first all-time meeting between these two sides.

New York will be eager to get back to their winning ways after having their winning streak snapped, but I’m not sure I can look away from the heavy plus money with LAFC here. LAFC have gone unbeaten in seven of their last eight league outings, and I’m confident they can escape Red Bull Arena with at least one point being the 2nd best away team in the West, so I’ll back LAFC and the draw on a double chance.
