Brighton -0.5 (+130) O/U 2.0
Brighton (DDDLD) and Crystal Palace (WLLLD) will meet on Saturday, February 29th for an English Premier League match at Amex Stadium. The match is scheduled for a 7:30 AM start time.
Brighton is coming off a draw to Sheffield Union in their last match on February 22nd in English Premier League play. Brighton has now drawn in their last three matches overall, and four of their last five. In the most recent draw to Sheffield Union, Enda Stevens opened the scoring for Sheffield Union in the 26th minute. It did not take long for Brighton to find the equalizer, as Neal Maupay found the back of the net in the 30th minute to tie the match at 1. That would be the only goal-scoring action in this one, as the two teams took the draw, 1-1.
Crystal Palace is coming off a 1-0 win over Newcastle United in their last match on February 22nd in English Premier League action. Crystal Palace snapped a three-game losing streak with that win over Newcastle, as Palace has struggled recently but look to put their woes behind them after a big victory. In the win over Newcastle United, Patrick van Aanholt put Crystal Palace in front with a goal in the 44th minute. A red card from Newcastle United in added time in the second-half sealed the victory for Crystal Palace, who needed the win badly.
The last match these two teams played against each other was on December 16th, 2019. That was a 1-1 draw in front of the Crystal Palace supporters. Brighton has won three of their last five meetings between the teams, and the last Crystal Palace victory of Brighton was on April 14, 2018, in a 3-2 result. Brighton sits at 15th in the English Premier League table, and Crystal Palace is currently at 13th respectively.
Brighton has not won a match in a while, so getting the 0.5 points with Crystal Palace is very valuable, considering that they have broken their losing streak and are looking to string together a few successful performances. I think this match can go either way, and because of that, I will take Crystal Palace +0.5, because a draw or a Palace win will do the trick. Until Brighton can prove they can earn a clean win, I will have to stay away from laying anything with them.
