Crystal Palace (WWLLL) and Watford (WLDLL) will meet on Saturday, March 7th for an English Premier League match at Selhurst Park. The match is set for a 10:00 AM eastern start time.
Crystal Palace is coming off a 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on the road on February 29th. That match was featured in the English Premier League schedule, and the win makes it two straight for Crystal Palace. In the victory, Jordan Ayew put Crystal Palace ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 70th minute. That would be the only offense for either team, despite Brighton & Hove Albion having 23 shots and eight of those shots being on target. Brighton & Hove Albion also owned 66% of the possession in the match.
Watford is coming off a stunning 3-0 victory over Goliath-like Liverpool on February 29th in their last match. That win is the biggest of the season for this Watford team who only has one victory in their last five matches overall. In the win, Ismaila Sarr scored in the 54th and 60th minute to give Watford a commanding two-goal lead. Troy Deeney added a strike in the 72nd minute to seal the deal for Watford and snap Liverpool's 44-match unbeaten streak, a historic game for both clubs.
In the last match between these two clubs, a draw occurred, 0-0 at Watford on December 7th, 2019. Other than that match, Watford has owned the series against Crystal Palace, winning three of the last five matches outright, and drawing in the other two. Crystal Palace is currently 12th in the English Premier League table, while Watford is currently 17th respectively. Crystal Palace has a -7 goal differential so far this season, while Watford's tally has them at -16. Watford has conceded 43 goals this season, while Crystal Palace has allowed 32. Watford has scored 27 goals, while Palace has scored 25.
Watford needs this match a lot more than Crystal Palace does, as the fears of relegation still haunt Watford in the 17th spot in the table. Watford was able to produce the impossible against Liverpool, and at +110 odds, I think they are worth a shot on the road against Crystal Palace. I would not be surprised at a push of a draw in this match, but I will take the value in Watford in this one.
