Watford +0.5 (-150) O/U 2.5
Watford (LWLDL) and Leicester City (WWLLD) will meet on Saturday, March 14th for an English Premier League matchup at the Vicarage Road. The match is scheduled for an 8:30 AM ET start time.
Watford is coming off a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace in their last match. Watford has only won one match in its last five overall, losing three and drawing the other one. In the loss to Crystal Palace, Jordan Ayew scored in the 28th minute to put Crystal Palace ahead in the first half. That goal would become the GWG in the Crystal Palace victory. Watford owned 56% of the total possession and added 10 shots (3 of which on target). Watford also had 4 yellow cards and was awarded 8 corner kicks in the losing effort.
Leicester City is coming off a 4-0 dominating victory over Aston Villa in their last match on March 9th in English Premier League action. Leicester has now won back-to-back matches, one being in the Premier League and the other in the English FA Cup (Win over Birmingham City). In the victory over Aston Villa, Harvey Barnes opened the scoring in the 40th minute to give Leicester the one-goal lead at the half. Jamie Vardy ended his long, nagging scoreless streak with a Penalty goal in the 63rd minute. He then added another tally in the 79th minute to give Leicester the commanding lead. Harvey Barnes added another one for himself in the 85th minute to add insult to injury. Leicester owned 65% possession and had 7 shots on target in the win.
In the last match that these two teams played against each other on December 4th, 2019, Leicester City was victorious, 2-0. Watford won the match previous to that. Leicester has won three of the past five matches between the two clubs overall. Watford is currently 17th in the Premier League table, as the thought of relegation does still haunt them. Leicester City is currently in the 3rd spot in the standings, as they are four points behind Manchester City for 2nd.
Watford is tough to beat in front of their home supporters, so there is no wonder why they have -150 odds at +0.5 goals. I do not see a ton of value in taking Leicester, as the two teams Watford took them down recently was at Watford. I will take Watford to win at +215 but I certainly do not love it.
