Isloch Minskiy Rayon is hosting FK Slutsk at KFP Minsk in round 3 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.
Isloch has started this season in good fashion, with two victories. With 6 points, Isloch is in 3rd place in the standings and still without a conceded goal so far. Isloch has scored 2 goals in the new season so far and Yansane has scored both of those goals for Isloch. Last season Isloch ended in 5th place with 47 points, 42 scored goals, and 36 conceded goals. High spot on the standings, but still pretty far from the Europa League. In their last Vysshaya League match against Smolevichi on the road, Isloch had 48% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, and 5 corner kicks. It was a solid game for Isloch against the newcomer to the league which Isloch won 0-1 by an early goal. Isloch has a pretty good team and Yansane and Makas are their best players. I could see Isloch as one of the teams that could compete for the Europa League in Belarus, but their biggest problem is consistency, especially on the defensive end. Once Isloch fixes that, then they might be good enough for one of the top three spots in the Vysshaya League.
Slutsk was playing well in the preseason and their season opener at home 2 weeks ago, but they lost their latest Vysshaya League match against Dinamo Brest last week. Slutsk has 49% of ball possession, 1 shot on target, and 7 corner kicks in that game but they weren’t dangerous enough to score a goal, and in the end, Slutsk lost that match 0-1 at home. Slutsk ended last season in 11th place with 34 points, only 29 scored goals, and massive 46 conceded goals, while this season Slutsk is in 6th place with 3 points, 3 scored goals, and 2 conceded goals. It seems that Slutsk’s offense is working a lot better this season than it was last season, at least for now. Serdyuk has scored 2 of Slutsk’s 3 goals, while Takulov added 1 goal. Even though they started the season well, the only expectation in Slutsk is to stay in Belarus’ top division for next season as well. There are a few good players like Serdyuk and Salou in Slutsk, but that is simply not enough to have notable results. Same as last season, I think Slutsk won’t do any better and the majority of the points they win will be at home.
Isloch has lost 3 out of 4 home games against Slutsk overall, and those were the last three they played. Both Isloch and Slutsk are the teams that will end up in the middle of the table at the end of the season, and both of these teams have the same problems with consistency and quality. Even though I would give a slight advantage to Isloch here because of a slightly better form, I think this will be a very tight game.
