Gorodeya is hosting Dinamo Minsk at Gorodeya Stadium in round 4 of Belarus Vysshaya League Soccer.
After two losses from the first two games and without a scored goal, Gorodeya has finally won a game last weekend against Belshina on the road. Gorodeya had 47% of ball possession, 1 corner kick, and only 1 shot on goal, but fortunately for them, Gorodeya was able to score a goal and to win this match 0-1 on the road. Lazar Sajcic is the only goal scorer for Gorodeya so far this season. Gorodeya is now in 14th place in the standings with 3 points, 1 scored goal, and 3 conceded goals. It was a tough start of the season for Gorodeya, but they have enough quality to be in the top half of the standings and there is still plenty of time to get there. Last season Gorodeya ended in a 7th place, far from the relegation zone, and far from the Europa League. It might take them a few more games to start playing better on both ends, but I’m confident that Gorodeya will start playing better and that they will once again be safe outside the relegation zone.
Dinamo Minsk has had one of the worst starts of the season ever. They lost their first two games, one at home and one on the road. In the first three matches of the season, Dinamo has scored 4 goals and conceded 4 goals. Bakhar, Shikavka, Klimovich, and Brucic have each scored 1 goal for Dinamo so far this season. Dinamo Minsk was in 4th place in Vysshaya League last season, while this season they are in 11th place with 3 points. In Belarus Cup, Dinamo got knocked out by Bate Borisov last month which means they must be in one of the top three spots in the Vysshaya League to get qualified for one of the European Competitions. In their last Vysshaya League match against Torpedo at home, Dinamo was the better team with 53% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, and 11 corner kicks. Dinamo was in control through the whole game and with two goals in the first half, Dinamo Minsk has won this match 2-0. Dinamo Minsk is one of the top teams in Belarus and they have the quality to compete for the title, but they lack consistency. Once Dinamo Minsk fixes that problem, they can expect better results and start hoping for the title.
Dinamo Minsk has had some success against Gorodeya on the road, and the games between Gorodeya and Dinamo usually produce at least 2 goals. Of 10 games these two teams played against each other, Gorodeya has won 3, Dinamo has won 6, while 1 match ended in a draw. I’m giving a slight advantage to Dinamo Minsk here, but I wouldn’t write of Gorodeya just yet.
