Isloch Minskiy Rayon is welcoming Slavia Mozyr to KFP Minsk in round 5 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.
Isloch is on a 2-game losing streak where they conceded 6 goals and scored 3 goals. With 6 points, 5 scored goals and 6 conceded goals, Isloch is in 10th place in the standings at the moment. In the first two games of the season, Isloch was playing solid soccer, especially on the defensive end where they haven’t conceded a goal In the first two games. In their last two games, they stayed consistent in the attacking end, but on the defensive end, everything went downhill for Isloch. In their last game in Vysshaya League against Dinamo Minsk on the road, Isloch had 47% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, and 4 corner kicks. Isloch had the lead in the first half, but it was a short one because Dinamo tied the game before the halftime. In the second half, Dinamo Minsk was in total control and Isloch has lost this match 3-1. I think that Isloch will stay safe outside the relegation zone this season, but their chances of getting to one of the top three spots are slim to none. Isloch is a solid team, but we are yet to see what their reaction will be after two straight losses and if they can bounce back at home.
Slavia is playing in great form and they lost only 1 of their last 8 games. Slavia has also beaten Bate Borisov in the first leg of the Belarus Cup. Slavia is in 6th place in the standings with 7 points, 5 scored goals, and 5 conceded goals. Slavia was solid defensively in their last two games where they haven’t conceded a goal. Offensively, Slavia has scored at least 1 goal in 7 of their last 8 games. In their last Vysshaya League match against Rukh last weekend, Slavia had 54% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, and 5 corner kicks. This was a match were defenses played the main role and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. Overall, Slavia has been one of the best teams at the start of this season, but I don’t think they can keep the pace up and stay consistent as they are now. Slavia is a solid team that is consistently scoring goals and I think they will continue to do so, but their defense will slowly start to decline and that is what will cost Slavia points. I predict that Slavia will end up somewhere between 7th and 10th place which is their maximum this season.
Slavia has won only once while playing on the road against Isloch and that was back in 2016. Considering Isloch is playing terrible defense and Slavia is consistently scoring goals, I will take a stab at over in this match because the odds are pretty good.
