Rukh Brest FC is hosting FC Minsk at Yunost Stadium in part of round 5 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.
Rukh is on a 3-game streak without a win, but what is even worse is that Rukh hasn’t scored a goal during that stretch. The only goal Rukh has scored was back in round 1 against Dinamo Minsk. Rukh is in 14th place in the standings with 4 points, 1 scored goal and 2 conceded goals. In their last match in Vysshaya League against Slavia Mozyr on the road last weekend, Rukh has had 46% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, and 4 corner kicks. Neither of the teams was in the mood in the attacking end and this match ended in a 0-0 draw. Seeing that Rukh is a newcomer to the Vysshaya League after they ended in the third place in Belarus’s second division last season, it’s normal not to be consistent or in their best form at the beginning of the new season, but even as the season will go on, I don’t see Rukh making changes or getting more consistent because they don’t have the quality to do so. It will be extremely hard for Rukh to stay outside the relegation zone and to stay in the Vysshaya League, but you never know.
FC Minsk is just another average team in the Vysshaya League, a team that can easily stay in the Vysshaya League but can’t get anywhere near the top of the standings. In their last 2 games, Minsk has conceded 5 goals and hasn’t scored any goals. Overall, Minsk has shown some offensive potential at the beginning of the season where they scored 6 goals in 2 games. At the moment, Minsk is in 11th place with 6 points. In their last match against Bate Borisov at home last weekend, Minsk had 46% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, and 7 corner kicks. It was a solid match for Minsk, but unfortunately for them, Bate Borisov was the better team in this game and has deservedly won 0-3. The next two games for Minsk are on the road, and with their current form, it will really hard for them to win some points, even though the teams they are playing against are also in bad forms. As I’ve mentioned earlier, Minsk is just an average team in the Vysshaya League, a team that is close to the relegation zone than to the top of the league. Last season Minsk was in 9th place, I predict it will be the same this season as well.
Rukh and Minsk never played against each other. Seeing that both teams are in bad form right now, and both teams are struggling, especially in the attacking end, I think this one ends in a draw.
