Slavia Mozyr vs. FC Minsk 4/25/20 Belarus Vysshaya League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction
4/25/20 8 am
Over 2.5 (+130), Under 2.5 (-167)
Slavia Mozyr is hosting FC Minsk at Yunost Stadium in round 6 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.
Slavia was on a nice 4-game streak without a loss until last week when they lost to Isloch on the road. Slavia had 49% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, and 9 corner kicks but unfortunately for them that wasn’t enough for Slavia to turn the game around after losing 2-0. Slavia is in 10th place in the standings with 7 points, 6 scored goals, and 7 conceded goals. Slavia is pretty consistent on both ends so far this season, they scored in 4 of their 5 games, while they also conceded a goal in 4 games this season. In the Belarus Cup, Slavia has beaten Bate Borisov 1-0 at home which is a small advantage, but an advantage nonetheless. Seeing that Bate Borisov is finally waking up, I think that Slavia will have a tough time keeping that advantage in the second leg next week. Slavia ended last season in 8th place which is also what I expect from them this season as well. Slavia is a decent team, but their quality will not allow them to climb the standings by much.
FC Minsk is in a terrible form at the moment. Minsk has lost their last 3 games in the Vysshaya League without scoring a single goal, while they conceded 6 goals. The beginning of the season was completely opposite for Minsk where they won the first two games by scoring 3 goals in each game and conceding 3 goals overall. Minsk is in 11th place in the standings with only 6 points from 5 games. In their last game in the Vysshaya League against Rukh, Minsk had 55% of ball possession, 5 corner kicks, but only 2 shots on goal. Neither their offense or defense were working in this game and Minsk has lost 1-0. Minsk has been just an average team in Vysshaya League for a while now and seeing how this season started for them, I don’t think Minsk will end up at the top half of the table this season. The first thing Minsk must fix is their defense. Minsk is in a terrible defensive form right now and until that is fixed, Minsk will struggle. The second thing Minsk must fix is their offense and they need to get into the form from their first two games where they were basically unstoppable.
When Slavia and Minsk meet, there are usually a lot of goals scored. The trends are mixed here, but Slavia has had some success at home. Because of Minsk’s terrible defensive form, I think they will concede at least one goal here, but I also think that it is about time for Minsk to score a goal.
