Over 2.5 (+150), Under 2.5 (-200)
FC Minsk is welcoming Torpedo to KFP Minsk in part of round 7 in the Belarus Vysshaya League.
After 3 straight losses, Minsk has finally broken their bad spell with a nice win against Slavia Mozyr on the road. Minsk had 48% of ball possession in that match, 3 shots on goal, and 1 corner kick. Minsk has scored 3 goals from their three shots on goal and has won this match 1-3. FC Minsk has scored 9 goals so far in the Vysshaya League and is one of the best offensive teams, but their defense has been a disaster with 10 conceded goals in 6 games. Minsk is in 7th place in the standings with 9 points. The beginning of the season was great for Minsk where they won their first two games, but after that, everything went downhill for Minsk. They lost three straight games and they haven’t scored a single goal during that period. Slavia Mozyr is one of the weakest teams in the Vysshaya League, but that doesn’t matter to Minsk, a win is a win, and it certainly meant a lot to FC Minsk and their fans. I don’t think Minsk has the quality to get higher in the standings because they are just an average Belarus’ team and I believe they will end the season somewhere in the middle of the table.
Torpedo has lost only 1 game so far this season and they are in 3rd place in the standings with 11 points. There are two ways of looking at Torpedo’s current situation, sure, they are high in the standings and are playing extraordinary soccer on the defensive end, but they scored only 4 goals in 6 games and that is something that could start costing Torpedo soon. Torpedo’s last two games ended in a 0-0 draw, one on the road and one at home. In their last match in the Vysshaya League against Rukh at home, Torpedo had 51% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, and 1 corner kick, but unfortunately for Torpedo, they couldn’t score a goal and this match ended in a 0-0 draw. Over the next few games, Torpedo will have a chance to get some more points on the board because their schedule is not that tough and this is a perfect opportunity for Torpedo to take over the top of the league, or at least to stay close to it. As I’ve said before, a low amount of goals scored could cost Torpedo soon because they might not be able to play great defense constantly, and when that time comes, Torpedo will have to score more goals.
When playing at home, Minsk has not lost to Torpedo in their last 4 games. Minsk is a home team which means that they play their best soccer in their home stadium, but I can’t just disregard their bad form. One victory doesn’t mean that Minsk’s slump is over. Torpedo hasn’t scored a goal in 2 games and I think this is the perfect opportunity for them to stop that trend because Minsk is not a good defensive team.
