Belshina Bobruisk is hosting Dynamo Brest in round 7 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.
There is no doubt in my mind anymore that Belshina is the worst team in the Vysshaya League this season. Belshina hasn’t won any of their last 9 games and they are playing in a terrible form on both ends. With only 2 points, 5 scored goals, and 10 conceded goals, Belshina is in the last, 16th place in the Vysshaya League standings. The only piece of good news for Belshina is that they scored at least one goal in 3 of their last games. In their most recent match against Slutsk on the road, Belshina had 44% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, and 7 corner kicks. This was one of the best games this season for Belshina, but unfortunately, they still lost 3-2. Last season in the second division of Belarus’ soccer, Belshina was one of the best teams, but they clearly don’t have the quality compete at the highest level of Belarus’ soccer. Belshina is yet to win the game this season and I believe they will end up in the last place and will get relegated. It was a nice adventure for Belshina, but it’s not going to last long.
Dynamo Brest is on a terrible run and they have lost all three of their last matches, 2 in the Vysshaya League, and one in the Belarus Cup against Shakhtyor earlier this week. Dynamo had 2-0 lead from the first leg of the Belarus Cup, and they were the better team in the first half of the second leg where Dynamo had 0-2 lead at the half time. It’s always dangerous to relax in a game like this, which is exactly what happened to Dynamo. When the second half started Shakhtyor attacked right away and their reward cam early. Shakhtyor scored 4 goals in the span of 25 minutes, and all of a sudden, we have ourselves a game. Shakhtyor need only 1 goal to advance to the finals of the Belarus Cup but Dynamo was able to defend, and they were lucky enough to advance to the finals. This loss against Shakhtyor in the Belarus Cup was the second loss for Dynamo Brest against the same team. Last weekend Dynamo was hosting Shakhtyor and has lost that match 0-2 despite being the better team with 53% of ball possession, 8 shots on goal, and 12 corner kicks. Advancing to the Belarus Cup finals is a chance for Dynamo Brest to win another title after they won the Vysshaya League last season, which is something Dynamo would certainly like to do.
The trends are actually on Belshina’s side in this matchup, especially at home. Both Belshina and Dynamo are playing in terrible form, but at least Dynamo Brest has some reason to be happy as of late. Belshina is the weaker team here and in far worse form and for that reason, I think Dynamo Brest finally gets a win here.
