Slavia Mozyr vs. Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino 5/9/20 Belarus Vysshaya League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction
5/9/20 8 am
Over 2.5 (+125), Under 2.5 (-163)
Slavia Mozyr is hosting Torpedo at Yunost Stadium in part of round 8 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.
Slavia had a terrible dry spell for a couple of weeks, but they were able to win their most recent match in the Vysshaya League last weekend. In that match against Vitebsk on the road, Slavia had 48% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, and 9 corner kicks. This was an incredibly exciting game with multiple penalties, lead changes, and 5 goals. Slavia has won this match 2-3 with 2 goals in the last 5 minutes of the game. Overall, Slavia is not bad this season, they are in 8th place in the standings with 10 points, 10 scored goals, and 12 conceded goals. Slavia’s defense has been amongst the worst so far this season, and that is something they must fix if Slavia wants to stay in the top half of the standings. Offensively, Slavia has been more than good, and they haven’t scored a goal in only 1 of their 7 games so far in the season. I expect that Slavia will stay outside the relegation zone, but unfortunately, they don’t have the quality to be closer to the top and to qualify for the Europa League.
Torpedo is playing well this season and they lost only 1 of their last 7 games. With 14 points, 9 scored goals, and 4 conceded goals, Torpedo is in second place, and they could stay close to the top if they can stay consistent. In their last match against Vysshaya League against FC Minsk, Torpedo had 53% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, and 6 corner kicks. Torpedo was playing fantastic soccer in this game and they scored 5 goals, and Torpedo has won this match 2-5. Defensively, Torpedo is outstanding this season with only 4 conceded goals in only 2 of their 7 matches this season. Until their most recent match, Torpedo was pretty weak offensively and they scored only 4 goals in their 7 games, but if Torpedo can keep the pace from their latest match in the Vysshaya League, Torpedo will be an extremely dangerous team. Torpedo’s schedule is on the easier side in their next three games, which means Torpedo might take over the top of the league soon if they keep winning games. Last season was solid for Torpedo when they ended the season in 6th place, but seeing how well Torpedo is playing this season, I expect it to be even better than the last one.
The last time that Slavia has won the home game against Torpedo was back in 2012. There is no doubt that Torpedo is the better team here, and they play in better form. Slavia has won their last game, but that doesn’t mean that their troubles are over. I don’t think it’s an accident that Torpedo is close to the top of the standings, and I think they will get a win here.
