Dynamo Brest is hosting Dinamo Minsk at Regional Sport Complex Brestskiy in part of round 8 in the Belarus Vysshaya League.
Dynamo Brest is a solid team, but they lack consistency this season. With only 1 win in their last 4 games, Dynamo is not playing in good form and it almost cost them the finals in the Belarus Cup. Dynamo had the comfortable 2-0 advantage from the first leg of the semifinals, and they even had a 0-2 lead at the half time of the second leg, but then in the second half Dynamo conceded 4 goals in 30 minutes and was just a goal away from being knocked out, but fortunately for Dynamo, they were able to defend and they got qualified to the finals of the Belarus Cup. In their most recent match in the Vysshaya League against Belshina on the road, Dynamo has had 43% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, and 6 corner kicks. This was a game where Dynamo showed signs of improvement and they won this match 0-3. Dynamo is in 7th place in the standings with 10 points, 9 scored goals, and 7 conceded goals. The next few games will be extremely tough for Dynamo, and if they want to have a shot at winning the Belarus Cup against Bate Borisov, Dynamo will have to improve even more.
Dinamo Minsk hasn’t been playing well this season and they conceded at least one goal in 5 of their last 7 games while scoring a goal in also 5 of their 7 games. Minsk has been decent offensively with 10 scored goals, but their defense hasn’t been as good with 8 conceded goals. Minsk is in 13th place of the Vysshaya League standings with 9 points, only 1 point outside the relegation zone playoffs. In their latest match in the Vysshaya League against Slutsk, Dinamo was the better team with 67% of ball possession, 9 shots on goal, and 7 corner kicks, but they were struggling with finishing their chances and Dinamo has lost this match 1-2. Dinamo Minsk in an average team in the Vysshaya League and even though they are close to the bottom of the table at the moment, I think there will be a point when Dinamo Minsk will wake up and start playing better soccer which will bring them closer to the top of the standings. The schedule is not to tough and I think that Dinamo can expect some points over the next few weeks.
Both Dynamo Brest and Dinamo Minsk were playing much better soccer last season than they do now. Dynamo Brest is last season’s champion, but I don’t see how they could defend the title this season. Neither of these two teams is playing good defense, and for that reason, I expect some goals here
