Dynamo Brest is hosting Bate Borisov at Regional Sport Complex Brestskiy in round 10 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.
Dynamo has been wildly inconsistent this season and that is the main reason for their bad results. Dynamo is in 7th place in the standings with 13 points, 12 scored goals, and 10 conceded goals. Dynamo Brest is also playing in the Belarus Cup finals in 6 days, also against Bate Borisov at home. In their last 3 games in the Vysshaya League, Dynamo has scored 6 goals, while they conceded 3 goals. In their most recent match in the Vysshaya League against Energetik on the road, Dynamo Brest had 52% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, and 7 corner kicks. Those inconsistencies Dynamo is struggling with came to light once again in this match and Dynamo Brest has lost this game 2-1 on the road. Dynamo is 2-1-2 at home this season with 7 scored and 7 conceded goals. Dynamo Brest is the last season’s champion in Belarus, and they were playing fantastic soccer on both ends, but this season is not going well for them. The only bright point in Dynamo’s season is that they were able to get into the Belarus Cup finals, which will be extremely hard for them I might add.
After massive struggles at the beginning of the season, Bate Borisov has taken over the top of the Vysshaya League. With 5 straight wins and only one loss in their last 9 games, Bate is at the top of the standings with 19 points, 19 scored goals, and 9 conceded goals. Bate has improved a lot over the last month, especially on the defensive end where they conceded 4 goals in their last 7 games while scoring 18 goals. In their last match in the Vysshaya League against Slutsk last weekend, Bate was the better team with 57% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, and 2 corner kicks. Bate Borisov was controlling this match from the start until the end and has won this game 3-0. Losing the title last season was a shock for Bate Borisov, but it looks like they might take it back this season, and also add the Belarus Cup trophy to their collection as well. I’ve said a few weeks ago that Bate Borisov is about to go on one of their runs where they are basically unstoppable, and I think that is happening. I feel like whichever team you put in front of Bate Borisov at the moment, they would beat them and show them who is the boss in Belarus’ soccer.
Dynamo Brest has barely had any success against Bate at home and they are playing in a much worse form than Bate Borisov. Dynamo and Bate are playing two games in the span of 4 days and I think both games will be a lot of fun, but I think Bate Borisov will be the winner, at least in the first one.
