FK Isloch Minsk is welcoming Energetik-BGU Minsk to KFP Minsk in round 10 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.
Isloch is in 6th place in the standings with 15 points, 11 scored goals, and 13 conceded goals, but they have been playing sloppy soccer whole season, especially on the defensive end. Isloch has conceded at least one goal in 6 of their last 7 games, while they scored in 5 of those 7 games. In their most recent match in the Vysshaya League against Dynamo Minsk on the road, Isloch has had only 41% of ball possession, 0 shots on goal, and 2 corner kicks. Isloch has lost this match 1-0. Isloch has been solid at home and their home record is 4-0-1, while they are 5-0-4 overall. Isloch isn’t a bad team and they have proven that already, but they are pretty inconsistent on the defensive end and that is what it’s going to cost Isloch a higher place in the table. Isloch ended last season in 5th place, and even though they have the potential to do better this season, I expect the same as last season from Isloch.
Energetik is on a nice 3-game winning streak where they scored 6 goals and conceded only 2 goals. After a disastrous last season, Energetik has completely turned things around this season and now they are in 3rd place in the standings with 18 points, just 1 point away from Bate Borisov at the top. There was a period of a couple of weeks about a month ago when Energetik was playing terrible soccer on both ends but learned the most of it from that and Energetik is now back on track. Offensively, Energetik has been one of the best teams in the Vysshaya League with 12 scored goals in 9 games. In their latest Vysshaya League match against Dynamo Brest at home, Energetik was solid with 48% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, and 7 corner kicks. Energetik was able to win this game 2-1. With the record of 4-0-1, Energetik is one of the best home teams in the Vysshaya League, while they are 2-0-2 on the road this season. Overall, I really like Energetik and their game style, but what I’m most impressed with is how Energetik was able to make a complete turn after almost being relegated last season. Of course, we can’t be sure for how long will Energetik be able to play this well, but I really hope they can go all the way. Bate Borisov is the best team in Belarus, but Energetik is close to the top, and I think that Energetik is Bate Borisov’s biggest competitor this season.
Isloch and Energetik have met three times in the past, and in all those games we saw at least 3 goals. With the way both of these teams are playing, I expect goals once again. I will take a stab at goals for plus money.
