SC Paderborn is hosting Hoffenheim at Benteler-Arena in part of round 27 of German Bundesliga.
Paderborn is in a terrible form and they haven’t won any of their last 7 games, while they won only 1 of their last 9 games. Paderborn is the least talented team in Bundesliga this season and they are in the last place in the standings with only 17 points, 30 scored goals, and massive 54 conceded goals. Even though there are enough games left and Paderborn still has a chance to get out of the relegation zone, I would hope for that as Paderborn is playing bad soccer and they simply don’t have the quality or depth to turn things around. In their last match in Bundesliga against Fortuna on the road last weekend, Paderborn has had only 47% of ball possession, 1 shot on goal, 0 corner kicks, and 83% of the correct passes. This was one of the rare games where Paderborn was able to keep the clean sheet, but if the opponent was any other team in Bundesliga, I feel like that would not be the case. This match ended in a 0-0 draw. Mamba has score 5 goals for Paderborn this season, while Srbeny added 4 goals. Kai Proger added 6 assists. Kilian is the only injured player for Paderborn, and he will miss this match. It doesn’t matter who Paderborn is playing next because they are the weakest team in Bundesliga and the schedule is always against them. I’m afraid the season is basically over for Paderborn and they will get relegated.
Hoffenheim is a talented team that can beat anyone if they put their heads together, but they lack consistency and chemistry this season. Hoffenheim hasn’t won any of their last 7 games, including the one last week against Hertha at home. Hoffenheim had 51% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, and 82% of the correct passes. Hoffenheim was the better team in this match but they weren’t able to use any of their chances, and Hoffenheim has lost this game 0-3. Hoffenheim is in 9th place in the table with 35 points, 4 points away from the Europa League qualifications spot, but the problem for Hoffenheim is that all of the teams ahead of them are playing much better soccer and are in much better form. Kramaric is the leading goal scorer for Hoffenheim with 7 goals, but unfortunately for them, Kramaric is injured and will not be playing. Beldofil and Adamyan are also injured and will miss this game. Hoffenheim was playing great last season, but since then, Hoffenheim has lost their strongest link, the best young coach in the world, Julian Naggelsman who signed with Leipzig. I like Hoffenheim, but I’m not sure if they can get to the Europa League spot because of their terrible form and key player injuries.
Hoffenheim has never lost to Paderborn in the past. Both Paderborn and Hoffenheim are in a terrible form and are conceding a ton of goals. I’m going to side with the team that has more quality here, and that is Hoffenheim.
