Over 2.5 (-225), Under 2.5 (+175)
FC Koln is welcoming RB Leipzig to RheinEnergieStadion in part of round 29 in German Bundesliga.
With 4 straight games without a win, Koln is slowly dropping in the standings and is now in 11th place with 34 points, just 7 points away from the relegation zone. Koln has been pretty consistent on the offensive end and they have scored at least one goal in their last 14 games in Bundesliga. Koln has also conceded at least one goal in their last 5 games in Bundesliga. As much as Koln was consistent offensively, it wasn’t enough as they conceded 10 goals in their last 5 games. Overall, Koln is right up there with some of the big teams offensively with 44 scored goals, but with 52 conceded goals, Koln is one of the worst teams in Bundesliga. In their midweek match against Hoffenheim on the road, Koln was the better team with 57% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 10 corner kicks, and high 88% of the correct passes. Once again Koln’s defense was a disaster and they have lost this game 3-1. Cordoba is leading goal scorer for Koln with 11 goals, while Uth and Bornauw added 5 goals each. Risse is injured, while Bornauw is suspended because of the red card. I believe that Koln will be able to get a few more points until the end of the season which will leave them in Bundesliga next season as well. Koln is a solid team that can score a lot of goals if only their defense was just a bit better.
Before the season started again, Leipzig had a decent chance to win the title, but in their first game in over two months, Leipzig has played 1-1 which basically knocked them out of the title race. Even if Leipzig still had hope after that, they tied against Hertha a few days ago and Leipzig is now without a chance to reach the top spot in Bundesliga. Theoretically, there is still hope, but I don’t see Bayern losing 3 games in Bundesliga. Leipzig must focus now to win one of the remaining 3 spots that lead to the Champions League because there are 4 teams competing for three spots, and all four teams are within four points. Leipzig is now in 4th place with 55 points, but they have one game less than Leverkusen in third place. In their latest match in Bundesliga against Hertha at home, Leipzig has had 57% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, and 84% of the correct passes. The first half result was 1-1, but in the 63rd minute, Leipzig has conceded a red card and was now a player short against a solid Hertha team. In 68th minute Schick shot the ball towards the goal and Hertha’s goalkeeper made a horrible mistake, and all of a sudden Leipzig was ahead. In the 82nd minute, Hertha was awarded a penalty kick and scored, and this match ended in a 2-2 draw. Timo Werner has scored 24 times for Leipzig this season, while Nkunku added 14 assists. Ampadu and Poulsen are injured, while Halstenberg is suspended because of the red card. The rest of the season will be exciting for Leipzig as they need every single point to stay in on of the top four spots, but for that to happen Leipzig must find a way to stay focused throughout the entire game.
Koln has beaten Leipzig only once in their 5 games, but Leipzig is in much better form. In all of those 5 games between Koln and Leipzig, we have seen both teams scoring a goal, and seeing how Koln is consistent in scoring but terrible on the defensive end, and Leipzig is not too good either, I think we will see at least 3 goals here.
